If you are looking to get most out of your new ASUS EeePad Transformer, let me tell you that you should root your new Android tablet so you can do things like install new ROMs, install Ubuntu, overclock it to 1.6Ghz dual-core, and more.

No, it’s a pretty simple process and anyone can do it so long as they follow the directions outlined here.

Probably one of the best EeePad Transformer ROMs out right now is the Android Revolution HD ROM, which features full stock experience with speed/RAM optimizations, better battery life, faster filesystem, and even overclocking kernel up to 1.6Ghz (depending on your EeePad, you might max out a lot earlier, mine maxed out at 1.424Ghz stable).

How to Overclock your EeePad Transformer to 1.6Ghz!

The EeePad Transformer is already pretty fast with its 1Ghz dual-core processors but if you are like me, you will want to take it to the limit and overclock it to near 1.6Ghz.

Not all Transformers are built the same though, depending on your luck, you might be able to overclock your EeePad Transformer to 1.6Ghz or maybe 1.2Ghz.  As for mine, I was able to achieve around 1.4Ghz stable, still a vast improvement over my stock 1Ghz.

Remember, that’s “dual-core” overclocking, 1.4Ghz potentially means TWO 1.4Ghz processors.
